This is a collage I made about what I did as a year 7, I made the border out of grey pentagons and it kind of looks like a stone background. The star in the middle is me doing art which I think is my favorite subject with writing as second.

Labyrinth film study

For the last two days we have been watching a movie called Labyrinth and studying the factors of what makes a fantasy movie but not just fantasy movies in general and we also learnt about how some of the things in the movie were made.

Leader nomination speech

Good morning/afternoon I am Shannon and I have been nominated for manaiakalani leader and I want to give you some reasons why I think I would be a good manaiakalani leader. I know a lot about technology and I am very creative in my work and DLO’s if you go onto my blog I have been making animations, most of them are just fun little things but there are educational ones. Animation is my way of connecting to my audience on my blog and it’s an easy way to show learning and information.

I also think I would be confident on stage and I would be able to present if I needed to. I also think I would be able to teach others to animate and we could collaborate and work as a team, When becoming a leader I think you would need to know a lot about teamwork and working together as that will allow you to make better DLO’s and make things easier but sometimes you can’t work together and that brings me onto my next point I feel I am good at working alone and self managing my work to finish it on time. My last reason is that courtesy of Mrs Anderson year 7’s have been learning about leadership and I now feel confident in my skills as a leader. That concludes my speech on why I think I should be the manaiakalani leader for 2017.

This is my speech on why I think I should be the manaiakalani leader of 2017 at Panmure Bridge School when I was on stage I felt very nervous and I could feel my legs shaking but I think I did a good job on stage and I hope I get the role of manaiakalani leader next year.

Tahuna Torea trip

On tuesday we went to Tahuna Torea and had a lot of fun there we saw a lot of cool things and views. The reason we went here is because for inquiry we have been learning about flight and the bar-tailed god wit. The tahuna torea nature reserve is where the God wit come after migrating and get taken care of after there rest. This is a DLO I made to reflect on Tahuna Torea. I had a lot of fun making this DLO.

Straw rocket fair testing DLO

This is Thomas and my DLO on what we did at tech, We made rockets with Mr Dun and Mrs Ferguson. This DLO Is on our statistics on when we made straw rockets. We judged them on there variables (eg): How many fins they had what angle we blew them and how hard we blew them.

Hockey

For the last 3 weeks we have been learning about Hockey, Hockey was one of my favorite kiwi sport this year, it was really fun playing hockey and other games. Some of the things we learnt were, Don't hold your hockey stick in the air, We also learnt how to dribble with hockey sticks. Our principal Mr Johnston even got involved and started playing hockey octopus with us.

Leader Nominations

Today we nominated our school leaders for 2017. We voted on the qualities of a leader and the positives of them being our school leaders. Everyone who got nominated has to write a speech on why they think they will be a good leader and will have to speak in front of the class on stage so they have a fell for what it will be like having to talk every week at assembly.
