Zoo trip recount
Zoo trip recount
On thursday Room 9 went to the zoo the first animals we saw were the tigers only one was awake and he kept going back and forth like a robot. Then we went to the aussie walk about I got to see kangaroos and this funny looking bird that tried to eat my zoo booklet my favourite animals were the monkeys they were kind of like humans except with a tail and lots of hair and they were playing tag. After that we saw the spiders they were hard to see because their habitat was dark. When we went to see the kiwis Mr Wong wanted us all to be quiet because he has never seen a kiwi at the zoo before and he didn’t see one this time either I was the only one to see a kiwi. The last thing we saw was the meerkats and we got to go through the meerkat tunnel it was dark and funny because Sylis was scaring everyone.

ANZAC's and Us
This is my anzac and me document I had to fill in all the words that were blanked out. I did this for my inquiry task.
ANZACs and Us
LI: Understand background information about ANZAC.
Most Anzac day services start with a march of returned service personnel wearing their medals, and marching behind banners and standards. The veterans march joined by other community groups, including members of the armed forces, the Red Cross, cadets etc.
The march continues to the local war memorial, where a service takes place. This includes the laying of wreaths from various organisations and members of the public. Flowers have traditionally been laid on graves and memorials in memory of the dead. Laurel and rosemary are often put in wreaths. Laurel was used by the ancient Romans as a symbol of honour and was woven into a wreath to crown victors or the brave. Rosemary is used for remembrance. The wreaths are laid to honour the people who have died fighting for New Zealand.
The poppy has become the symbol of Anzac Day. The Flanders poppy as it is normally called grew in the trenches and craters of the war zone in Belgium and at Gallipoli. These poppies grew wild in the spring. The soldiers thought of the poppies as soldiers who had died. The poppy was made famous by Colonel J.M. McCrae's poem Poppies in Flanders' Fields. Poppies are sold on the day before Anzac Day to raise money for the R.S.A. [Returned Services Association]
In most ceremonies of remembrance there is a reading of a poem. This is often "The Ode to the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon. It was first published in the Times newspaper in 1914.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
At the going dawn of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
The last post of the trumpet call sounded in army barracks at 10pm at night to mark the end of the ANZAC activities. It is also played at military funerals and commemorative services to show that the soldier's day has drawn to a final close.
This is usually followed by a period of silence for one or two minutes as a sign of respect for those that have died. After observing the silence the flags are raised from half-mast to the masthead. The Rouse is then played. The Rouse called the soldier's spirits to arise and awaken for another day.
The Reveille is played at dawn services instead of the Rouse. The Reveille is played only at the first call in the ceremony. It woke the soldiers up at dawn.
Often hymns are sung and speeches made. The important part of the ceremony is to remember those who died.

All about me
All about me
Hi my name is Shannon and I am here to talk about myself and the important things in my life. My family, hobbies and friends. I am 10 years old and I was born in New Zealand.
In my family I have a sister, mum and my dad. My family are important to me because they entertain me. My family also provides me with food and help me whenever I need it.My mum also buys me the things I need like stationary and she also plays games with me and so does my dad me and him play halo 4. In halo 4 we play campaign its a story mode and I drive him in my vehicles and sometimes he gets to use turrets like on a warthog a car type truck with a turret on the back it could be a mini gun, sniper or rocket launcher.
My hobbies are video games, sports and playing with friends. I like video games because I like playing online and I also like video games because of the exploration in some games. For example trove an endless world where you can take down dungeons and craft items. In trove you can also ride a mount. I like sports because I like getting outside and playing with friends. I like playing with my friends because i like to play video games with them.
My friends are Daniel, Harlem, Cyrus, Eric, Jericho, Oh Hsen and Sylis. My friends are honest, fun to play with and are smart. I like to play with them on minecraft and other games like manhunt. When me and my friends play minecraft we usually play survival in survival you have to survive eat food so you don’t starve and at night time monsters come out and attack some of the monsters are zombies which burn in the day and skeletons have a bow so they can shoot but also burn in the day and there is also creepers when they get close to you they explode and don’t burn in the day.
My family, my friends and my hobbies are all important to me especially my family. They play games with and provide food for me and also my hobbies because without my hobbies I would be very bored and my friends are important because they play games with me and most of the time i'm playing with them.
