Summer Learning Journey Opening

Today the Summer Learning Journey was officially opened. Rachel came to our school with a number of people including Mr Grady the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and also people from the Next Foundation. There was a little clip shown with the host being the Manaiakalani leader of PBS Daniel Grady. Our school was a big help in this Summer Learning Journey with our school being one of the best bloggers for the summer and winter holidays. But of course we couldn't have made this a reality without Rachel who was the person who organised this program. After this we got free lunch thanks to the Next Foundation.

Christmas in Canada

To celebrate Christmas we got into groups of four and worked collaboratively to find out about Christmas in different countries all around the world. My group worked on Canada and we found a lot of interesting things about Canada like how the eat chicken bones as a Christmas treat. We also learnt what they do differently from New Zealand. To show our learning we recorded our google drawing using screencastify. I worked on this DLO with Freeman, Joshua and Magenta.

Google Coding Game

For three days google had a coding game if you clicked the google logo. This game starred a rabbit character and the objective of the game was to code the rabbit to collect all of the carrots using as little code as possible. There are four different coding tiles the first being a tile that moves the rabbit forward the second and third are tiles that turn the rabbit left or right and finally there is a tile that loops code for the set number.

Cuboid's Story - Part 1

This an animation called Cuboid's Story and it is about a character named Cuboid who is in his very own videogame. He has to face whatever dangers pass him, Will he conquer his very own game? This is only part 1 so you are going to have to stick around to find out. Thanks to Jack for helping me with this animation which I made during the weekend and in my spare time.
