Inquiry Recycling

Today for inquiry we had to get into groups 4 and we had to negotiate without talking about how Panmure Bridge should prevent littering. The pupils in my team came up with fantastic Ideas. My favourite was the one which say have more bins in our school and we should the one which says tidy kiwi should be long like 3 three weeks. I could not believe that lots of people came up with have more bins at our school. I really had fun negotiating with my group members with out speaking and using sign language.

Fonterra Milk in Schools recycling.

Harlem and I made a DLO about why it is important to recycle the milk cartons that some schools receive. I think it is really cool that our rubbish is being turned into things that people all around the world can use.

Dance

Today for dance Miss Brett has been teaching us about the temp or speed of music and how it affects the dance. Dances look better when they are in sync with the music which is the point Miss Brett was trying to get across with this lesson. I really enjoyed today lesson in dance because me and Oh Hsen made a lot of progress with our dance and the moves we used. She compared rock and ballet music to a dance to see if they would fit the dance and rock was to fast while ballet was to slow.

Tech Day 5 Term 2

Today at tech we worked on our designs for our clocks we made six designs after choosing who we were making the clock for. I am making a clock for my self and out of the six designs I think the one I will most likely use is the Tri-Force from The Legend of Zelda.

Respecting cultural traditions - Summary

This week is Samoan language week, so for reading we've been learning Samoan traditions. So to help us learn more about the Samoan culture we watched a video that included Mata'afa Elia Autagavia (who gave a speech on Samoan .) Our task was to find the main idea in the video. In the video Mata'afa was talking about how students from schools performed their dances. He said that the students were doing a lot of the actions wrong. This DLO is a summary about the video. We decided to use a summary because it is more easier for us to find the main idea and we've previously used it before. The main idea is: We have to preserve the Samoan culture so people don't lose connections with their roots. It is like a flax because you pull the older leaves out to keep the plant alive. To make this DLO I worked with Daniel and Jeremiah

Ula Lole problem solving

Daniel and I made an animation on a very hard word problem that even stumped the greatest of teachers. I had a lot of fun making this DLO because the problem was harder than usual and was a lot of fun to try and find the answer and also animating was fun to.
